Resume Referees

Tips:
  • It is recommended to have 3-5 referees on your resume. This will ensure that if a potential employer is unable to contact a reference they can still get a reliable reference for you
  • There is a definite hierarchy to referees that potential employers tend to value more highly:
  1. Paid Work/Work Experience/Volunteer Work
  2. Trainer's/Teacher's/Coaches
  3. Family Friend's
  4. Family/Friend's
  • Ensure you ask your referees if they would mind being listed on your resume and let them know the job you are applying for, the required skills and that they may be contacted
